Plaque Unveiling for AVP Champions at the Manhattan Beach Pier

The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour will host the annual unveiling of plaques honoring last year’s winners of the AVP Gold Series Manhattan Beach Open.

Each year, plaques are installed on the pier to honor the winners of the longest-running and most prestigious professional beach volleyball tournament in the country, with plaques dating back to the early 1960s.

This year’s ceremony will honor 2021 champions April Ross, Alix Klineman, Tri Bourne and Trevor Crabb. The ceremony is open to the public.

The AVP Gold Series Manhattan Beach Open starts this Thursday, August 18, with an open qualifier and runs through Sunday, April 21 just south of the Manhattan Beach Pier. The tenth tournament of the AVP’s 2022 season and the second of three Gold Series events will feature the largest field of the entire season, with 32-team brackets for the men and women. Many of beach volleyball’s best athletes will compete for a $300,000 prize purse, tied for the highest total payout this season.

General admission tickets for the AVP Gold Series Manhattan Beach Open are FREE every day, with the option to purchase premium seating tickets for Club AVP, The Deck, Premium Club AVP, private cabanas and courtside VIP boxes, all ranging in price. Tickets are available at www.AVP.com.
