A Community Conversation with Frank Meeink

A recovering skinhead's transformation and his triumph over hatred

Join The South Bay Community Coalition Against Hate to hear Frank Meeink share his honest, enlightening and inspiring journey away from a life of hatred and white supremacy to his lifelong mission to make the world understand the negative impact of misguided hatred. As a teenager, Frank was one of the most well-known skinhead gang members in the country. He had his own public access show called The Reich, and appeared on Nightline and other media outlets as a spokesman for the neo-Nazi movement. At 18, Meeink spent several years in prison. While in prison, he started reevaluating his own racist beliefs and his transformation began.

Frank will talk about his life as a skinhead, how he came to acknowledge his past, and about how he now embraces an environment of inclusivity that he strives to create. From white supremacist to an educator about the importance of racial diversity, Frank tells a unique and poignant story of his path to redemption.

The event will be held at American Martyrs' O'Donnell Hall. The discussion will be moderated by Avery Smith, 20-year resident of El Segundo and a member of the El Segundo Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ES DEI) Committee.
