Sep 10, 2014 01:09PM ● By Mb News Staff
Walgreens and the UCLA Radiology Center on Sepulveda Boulevard may soon have a new neighbor, and the community a new preschool.

The architect and owners of Chalk Preschool, who previously considered building a daycare at 1030 Manhattan Beach Blvd., go before the city's Planning Commission tonight (Wednesday, September 10) for approval to design a two-structure daycare for 118 children, near the corner of Sepulveda Boulevard and 22nd Street, and 22nd Street and Cedar Avenue, at 1114-11126 22nd St.

The owners of Chalk Preschool, which has five existing locations (Westwood, Venice and three in Chicago), have noted architect Patrick Killen working on the project. The grounds would include a preschool, playground and parking lot. Chalk will be open to children ages 2 to 5.

All previous tenants at 1114-1126 22nd St. are gone, including Stir Fry Grill, Magic Skewer, The Schooner, a hair salon and offices. The print shop Manhattan Repro has moved to 1620 Aviation Blvd. in Redondo Beach.

The Planning Commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 1400 Highland Ave.
