An argument outside the CVS Manhattan Beach on Monday night turned into an altercation with one man injured. MBPD say the alleged assailant has not been identified but there is no current threat to public safety.
According to MBPD Public Information Officer Christopher Ineguez, two men got into an argument on Monday night outside of CVS. One man then allegedly cut the other one on the arm with what was thought to be a box cutter, and then fled the scene.
The man who was injured was treated by Manhattan Beach Fire Department paramedics and declined further treatment, according to Ineguez.
Detectives are continuing to work to identify the alleged assailant, said Ineguez, but the police believe there is no current threat to public safety.
"If somebody was running around we would have put that out [on Nixle and other public alerts] immediately. This was just two gentlemen having an argument," he said.
Ineguez added that the two parties involved were not Manhattan Beach residents, and that it is typical to have many visitors coming in to town during this time of year.
"We’re a beach community, and we get people from all over the place who want to visit the beach," he said, adding that unfortunately, "some of them don't know how to behave themselves."
Following an assault incident on June 2 outside Target, a woman was arrested and charges have been filed against her.
