Downtown Manhattan Beach Will Get New Parking Spaces

(A new line of parking meters in the Greenbelt lot across from the Vons added seven new parking spaces.)
The city will be closing roads in Downtown Manhattan Beach from November 4 through 7 to do re-striping and install meters for new parking spaces.
While the city has already created some new spaces, this week's work will bring the total number of new spaces created to 90.
The Public Works Department will post “No Parking” signs to designate street closures where work will begin to stripe the
new parking spaces. The closures will take place as follows:
Day 1 and 2: Monday, November 4, and Tuesday, November 5 - 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Manhattan Avenue between 10th Street and 11th Street
- Valley Drive between 18th Street and 20th Place
Day 2 and 3: Tuesday, November 5, and Wednesday, November 6 - 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Valley Drive between 17th Street and 18th Street
- Manhattan Avenue between 14th Place and 15th Street
- Manhattan Avenue between Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Center Place
Day 3 and 4: Wednesday, November 6, and Thursday, November 7, - 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- 15th Street between Valley Drive and Highland Avenue
- Morningside Drive between Manhattan Beach Boulevard and 13th Street
Day 4 and 5 Thursday, November 7, and Friday, November 8 - 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Manhattan Beach Boulevard between Ocean Drive and the Strand
- Valley Drive between Manhattan Beach Boulevard and 13th Street
- Manhattan Avenue between 11th Street and Manhattan Beach Boulevard
The loss of City Parking Lot 3 has led to a major reshuffling of parking options in Downtown Manhattan Beach. Note that the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market, held on Tuesdays, has been moved to Civic Center Plaza until the demolition of Lot 3 is complete.
