Coming soon to a street corner near you: South Bay Unscripted, a local comedy improve troupe, will be making appearances to promote the May 18 Tour de Pier event.
Members of the comedy ensemble will make surprise appearances at various
street corners throughout Manhattan Beach during key morning and
afternoon driving times, while donned in animated inflatable costumes.
Using humor, their goal is to encourage the community
to remain vigilant in supporting cancer research, especially in light
of recent federal funding cuts that threaten the continuation of vital
research.
“It’s been said that laughter is the best medicine and helps bring
people together,” said Heath Gregory, co-founder of the Tour de Pier.
“That is why we are excited to have the talented South Bay Unscripted
ensemble join us in spreading laughter during an
unprecedented time when the advancement of cancer research is at risk.”
Gregory added, “Their passion to spreading awareness through laughter brings
joy to many people while making a lasting impact.”

The troupe was spotted last Thursday afternoon at 6th and Sepulveda. (TOP-SECRET INSIDE INFORMATION: You'll be able to catch them again on Wednesday, April 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. at 604 N. Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach.)
