29 Mira Costa Students Recognized on Fall Signing Day

At last week's national Fall Signing Day, 29 Mira Costa High School
students signed their commitments to continue their respective sports
at the collegiate level. (Typically, an official signing day is held in
the fall, again in the winter, and once more in the spring, depending on
the sport.)
Those students - and their respective universities and sports - include:

Grant Anderson will be playing water polo for San Jose State. He has been a member of Mira Costa's water polo team since his freshman year. He switched positions from field to goalie in his sophomore year and joined the Costa varsity team. Grant has played club water polo for Trojan since he was seven years old - and which is where he first met Kai Nelson and the two have played together ever since. They will now continue to be teammates at SJSU. Grant would like to thank all of his coaches, especially David Halushka and Jon Reichardt. He and his teammates were very happy to deliver a win over Harvard Westlake this season for the first time in Reichardt's career. He thanks his mom and dad.
Ryann Bennett will be attending CSU Dominguez Hills to play volleyball for the Toros. Ryann has played with the Mira
Costa volleyball program for four years, two with JV and two with
Varsity. Additionally, she has played for Surfside Volleyball Club for
five years. She plays both middle blocker and opposite, though she
prefers playing middle. Ryann’s volleyball career is impressive,
considering she joined the sport at the age of 12 and began playing club
at the age of 13. While attending Mira Costa, Ryann
has earned Honor Roll every semester, has been enrolled in AP/ Honors
classes, and carries a weighted GPA of 4.0. Ryann thanks
her mom, sister, and brother for their unwavering support both on and
off the court; her coaches for developing her confidence and skills, as
well as the countless hours they have dedicated to making her the
player she is today; and her teammates, most of which are her closest friends, for being a part of every memory that she holds close to her heart.
Bridget Blu will be attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and competing for the Mustangs volleyball team in the Big West conference. Bridget has been a member of the Mira Costa indoor varsity volleyball team since her junior year and also played on the beach volleyball team freshman and sophomore year. At Costa she has played outside hitter, right side and middle blocker. She currently plays club volleyball at SC Rockstar and looks forward to the upcoming season. She thanks her mom, stepdad and coach Joy for their guidance and support throughout the recruiting process.
Cayenne Ceman will be attending Northeastern University in
Boston, where she will compete for the Huskies Women’s Indoor Volleyball
Team. A three-year member of the Mira Costa Varsity Indoor Volleyball
Team, a two-year starter, and a dynamic pin hitter, she has spent most
of her time on the court playing opposite. She was part of the CIF
runner up team in 2023, named All Bay League team in 2024, and served as
Team Captain in the 2025 season. She was awarded most inspirational
teammate in 2024; an award she received for both club and high school
that year. Cayenne has also played Costa Beach Volleyball and was on
varsity three out of four years, winning CIF in 2023, and CIF runner up
in 2024. Cayenne played for Mizuno Long Beach Volleyball club the past
three years, placing in multiple tournaments. Cayenne would like to
thank her family, friends, and coaches for their endless support
throughout the years.
Ruby Cochrane has committed to Stanford University, where she’ll compete for the Cardinal beach
volleyball team. Her passion for the sport began at age nine on the banks of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu and eventually fueled a move for her whole family from Hawaii to California, joining Mira Costa’s beach volleyball program as a sophomore. As the newcomer to the team, with much to prove, Ruby walked away with the “Most Improved” award her first season at Mira Costa. She continued the momentum and took 2nd place in the 2025 CIF-SS Individual Pairs Championship with her partner the following year. Ruby proudly ended her junior year season with the team’s Beach Volleyball MVP title. Ruby’s love for beach volleyball has taken her across the world, representing Canada at the U19 World Championships in Shagluo, China; NORCECA Trials in the Dominican Republic and the recent U18 World Championships in Doha, Qatar. She hopes to wear the maple leaf again at the next U21 Worlds. Following in both parents’ footsteps, she looks forward to studying computer science at Stanford and is deeply grateful to her family, friends, and coaches for their unwavering support.

Matteo Crisera has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at UC Santa Barbara, where he will join the Gauchos men’s soccer program. Matteo has been a member of the Varsity soccer team since he started at Mira Costa his sophomore year. Known for his leadership, competitiveness, and relentless work ethic, he has played an important role in the program’s success throughout his high school journey. In addition to his achievements at Mira Costa, Matteo plays for the Beach FC U19 ECNL team. For his performance during the most recent season, he was selected to the ECNL Southwest Conference First Team and was named the ECNL Southwest Conference Player of the Year. He was also selected as an ECNL All-American, a testament to his high-level impact on the field, technical ability, and strong presence as both a playmaker and leader. Matteo’s development has been shaped by the dedication and guidance of his coaches and he is incredibly grateful for their belief in him. He is also thankful to the trainers who have helped him recover from his injuries and have kept him physically fit; and is thankful for the constant support of his teammates, friends, and family, who have encouraged him every step of the way and inspired his drive to compete at the collegiate level.

Krish Desai will be attending Cornell University next fall as a D1 runner in both Track & Field and Cross Country while studying at the Johnson School of Business. Krish has been a member of Mira Costa's cross country and track and field teams for all four years. He has raced in numerous state and national competitions including the California State Meet, New Balance Indoor Nationals, The Ten, and Portland Track Festival. He currently ranks as one of the top 10 runners in the state of California for the 800m (1:53), 1500m (3:53), and 1600m (4:10) distances, with the final two being all-time Mira Costa School records. One of his most memorable races was competing at the THE TEN - a combined amateur and pro racing event that brings the best athletes from around the world to Southern California - where he set the school record for the 1600m. Krish also performs both in the classroom and on the track as he has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinction. He thanks his family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their unwavering support.
Lily Enfield will attend the University of South Carolina and playing for the Gamecocks beach volleyball team. Lily played for Mira Costa varsity beach volleyball her sophomore year and Highland Park varsity volleyball her junior year. Currently she is playing for South Bay Sand Beach Volleyball Club. Lily thanks her family, friends, and coaches for their support throughout the years.
Keira Faragalla will be attending the University of Oregon to compete with the Ducks on the beach volleyball team. Keira has been a member of Mira Costa’s indoor and beach volleyball teams. She has been a proud scholar-athlete and has maintained a 4.0 GPA during high school. She looks forward to studying business and political science at Oregon. Keira thanks her family; her friends; and coach Patty, Holly and Nancy for their unwavering support during her beach volleyball journey.
Mason Feldman will be attending Beloit College to continue his academic and athletic career, where he will play baseball as a pitcher. Mason has been a member of the Mira Costa varsity baseball team since his junior year and a captain this year. He thanks his family, friends, and coaches who supported him to get to this moment and taught him valuable lessons on and off the field.
Audrey Flanagan will be attending the University of Wisconsin next fall, where she’ll compete for the Badgers. She is a four-year member of the Costa Beach Varsity Team and a three-year starter for the Indoor Varsity Program. During her time at Costa, Audrey won two CIF and National Championships with the beach program. Her indoor accomplishments are equally impressive: She was part of the CIF runner-up team in 2023 and earned All-CIF, All Bay League, and Second Team All-American honors. In 2024, Audrey was named the Bay League’s Most Outstanding Player, a First Team All-American, and All-CIF selection. Her indoor club team, SCVC, captured a national title in 2024 and followed it up with a bronze medal in 2025. Audrey competed for the USA U19 National Team, winning a gold medal and earning awards for Best Attacker, Best Receiver, and Best Server. Last summer, she also played for the U21 National Team and was later invited to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game this January. She would like to thank her parents and brothers for their love and support, and all of her coaches who have believed in her along the way.
Tomek Gorzkowski will attend UCLA and compete for the track & field team. Tomek has been a member of the Mira Costa varsity track and field team since his freshman year under pole vault Coach Murray Mead and Head Coach Moe Russell. He holds the Mira Costa school record in pole vault and placed third at the CIF State Championships. Tomek has also been recognized as a scholar-athlete throughout high school. Outside of school, he trains with No Limits Pole Vault, continuing to push his performance to new heights. Tomek thanks his family, friends, and coaches for their endless support and encouragement.
Flynn Guenther will be attending UCLA, where he will continue his academic and athletic career as a member of the Bruins Men’s Water Polo team. Flynn has been a member of the Mira Costa Boys Varsity Water Polo program since his freshman year and currently serves as team captain. Over his four years, he has helped lead the Mustangs to a first-place finish at CIF Regionals and a 2nd-place finish at CIF Southern Section in Division 1. Beyond water polo, Flynn has been a dedicated scholar-athlete and an active part of the Costa community, emphasizing teamwork, integrity, and growth. He is the Commissioner of Campus Morale for ASB, where he leads pep rallies, Fun Fridays, and other activities. He credits the strong Mustang team culture and lasting friendships built through water polo as some of his most meaningful high school experiences. Flynn thanks his parents (John and Colleen), his brother Jack, Coach Reichardt and Halushka, Franklin, Bob, his teammates, and his friends for their constant encouragement and support throughout his journey.
Garrett Jacobs will be attending UCLA to play baseball. Garrett was one of the top pitchers in the state last year and helped Costa go undefeated in the Bay League and make it to the quarterfinals of playoffs. He ended up making the All-CIF team, won Bay league MVP, was the Daily Breeze pitcher of the year, and made first team All-State alongside just five other pitchers as a junior. He plans on helping Costa win Bay League again and make a deep run in playoffs. He thanks his family, friends, coaches, and teammates for their support and the memories that they have created, which will last a lifetime.
Luke Lowell will attend Emerson College in Boston and compete for the Lion’s basketball team. Luke has been a member of the Mira Costa Varsity basketball team since his sophomore year.Luke has been a student-athlete starting as a freshman and maintaining Honor Roll for all three years. As a Link Crew Leader his junior year he helped mentor incoming freshman as well as assisting those affected by the fires transition to the Costa campus. Currently, he plays club basketball for All in Elite and All Storm Elite. Luke thanks his family, friends, and coaches their support throughout the years. He especially thanks his mom for the endless rides, dedication for his success in the classroom, and for always being at his games; his dad for constantly rebounding for him and his constructive criticism; and his brother for being so positive and selfless with his time and energy so Luke could pursue his passion.
Anna Maertz will be playing D1 soccer for the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Anna has been a part of the Costa soccer team all four years, two of which on Varsity. She also competed on Costa's Varsity track team her freshman and sophomore years. Anna currently plays club soccer for Slammers FC, where she helped her team advance to the round of 16 of playoffs over summer. Anna thanks her family, friends, and coaches for their endless support.
Milly McGee will be attending the University of Southern
California to continue her education and play D1 indoor volleyball.
Milly is a setter and has been a member of the Mira Costa varsity
volleyball team since her sophomore year. She’s been co-captain for the
last two years, two-time Daily Breeze Player of the week, and made
FirstTeam All Bay League last season. She also won an open national
championship with her club team, SCVC. She is a proud scholar-athlete
for the past 4 years. She thanks her parents, sister Lucca, and dog
Zephie for being her number-one supporters, and Cam, Nancy, Nicole,
Melissa, Amir, Jess and Kathy for all their dedication and help to
achieve her goals.
Sage Meidroth will be attending DePaul University in Chicago and playing D1 volleyball for the Blue Demons. Sage has been a four year Costa volleyball player, playing the libero and DS positions. Sage is also an AP Art student and currently plays club volleyball for Actyve. She thanks her family, friends, teachers and coaches who have supported her academic and volleyball journey.
Kai Nelson will attend San Jose State University and play water polo for the Division 1 Spartans. He has been a Varsity water polo player and Varsity swimmer since freshman year at Costa, earning All-Bay League honors last year. He has played with Trojan Water Polo club since he was nine years old, and was coached at that time by none other than Coach Reichardt himself. Kai thanks his family, teammates and coaches for all their love and support over the years.
Olga Nikolaeva will be attending Stanford University and competing for the Cardinals beach volleyball team. Olga has been a member of Mira Costa varsity beach volleyball team since her freshman year and has also been a proud scholar-athlete. Currently, she plays club beach volleyball for Spiker. Olga thanks her family, friends, and all coaches for all their support throughout the years.
Halle Ostboe will attend George Washington University in Washington D.C. and will compete for the women's soccer team. Halle was a member of the Mira Costa Varsity girls soccer team from freshman to junior year, and joined the track and field team her senior year. Halle was named to the Bay League All-Conference team, leading her team to the CIF Southern Section Open Division and Regional Semifinals in 2024, while being a scholar-athlete since her freshman year. For the past five years, she has played club soccer at Beach FC on the ECNL team. Halle thanks her family who have continued to support her on her soccer journey and beyond; as well as her coaches, trainers, teammates, and friends who have helped her grow and be able to get to this moment.
Jackson Reach is going to play football at Clemson University. He has been a member of the Varsity football team since his freshman year. Jackson played as a linebacker, tight end, and a long snapper for the Mustangs. He thanks his coaches, trainers, family and friends for being a part of his journey to college football.
Simone Roslon is an outside hitter who will be playing indoor volleyball for Stanford University. Simone is a four-year varsity player at Mira Costa. She made the First Team All Bay League and First Team CIF Southern Section in 2024 and was awarded Best Defensive Player on varsity last year. Simone was recently selected to the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association Girls High School All-Region Team and the AVCA Best and Brightest First Team. She has enjoyed being part of the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program since its inception. Simone thanks her family, friends, and coaches for supporting her since she began playing volleyball at age seven.
Joaquin Scholer will be attending Santa Clara University and competing for the Broncos baseball team. Joaquin has been a scholar athlete since his freshman year, initially playing varsity baseball at Culver City High School before transferring to Mira Costa as a junior. He has been a member of the Mira Costa varsity baseball team ever since. He plays first base and right field. Joaquin has been playing club baseball since age 11. He would like to thank his family, friends and all of his coaches for their continued support throughout the years.
Jordan Shelor is a scholar, libero, and soon-to- be Harvard athlete. Jordan has been a proud member of the Mira
Costa volleyball program all four years, earning her spot on Varsity as
a sophomore and never looking back. She’s brought fire to the court,
tenacity to her team, and Mustang pride to every match. She has a 4.4
GPA, including AP and honors classes, plays high school indoor and beach
volleyball as well as club for SC Rockstar. Next year, she’s heading to
Harvard to play Division 1 volleyball, where she is excited to meet new
teammates and learn more about the East Coast lifestyle. She hasn’t
decided on a major but plans to explore economics, psychology, and
sociology. She thanks her family for the love, the post-game debriefs,
and the endless support; her friends for the laughs, the hype, and the
joy you bring her every day; and her coaches for the drills, the time,
and the belief.
Lily Sprague will attend the University of Washington to continue her education and play D1 beach volleyball. Lily is a split blocker and has been a member of the Mira Costa Varsity Beach Volleyball team since her sophomore year, and was undefeated her freshmen and sophomore years in the Mira Costa Beach program. Lily was All Bay League Second team her Junior Year and was recognized as the Most Improved Player from her coaches. She has won two CIF titles and earned a second place title last season. She has also been a proud scholar-athlete for the past four years. Lily has been a part of the USA Volleyball Development Program the past four years, and was recognized on the Fab 50 top watch list in the country. She currently plays for MBSand Beach volleyball club. Lily thanks her parents, her brother Ryan, and friends for being her number-one supporters; as well as coaches Patty and Mike Dodd, Holly McPeak, Barbara Fontana, and Nancy Reynolds for their dedication and helping her achieve her goals.
Reese Stringer will be playing Division 1 volleyball for the University of Pennsylvania, where she plans to study at the Wharton School of Business. She has been a three-year varsity setter on the Mira Costa girls volleyball team. She is also a proud four-year scholar athlete. Currently, Reese plays club volleyball for SC Rockstar LOVB Joy. She thanks her coaches, teammates, friends, and especially her family for all of their support throughout the years.
Ace Tarango will be attending the United States Naval Academy and competing for the Midshipmen baseball team. Ace has been a member of the Mira Costa varsity baseball team since his sophomore year. He is a strong presence offensively at the top of the lineup with a reliable on base percentage plus speed stealing extra bases, and defensively his agility and athleticism makes his glove an anchor in the outfield. Ace has been a scholar-athlete since his freshman year and carries one of the highest GPAs on the team. He plays club baseball with ODA, Sandlot, and TB SoCal. Accolades include: 2nd Team All Bay- League (Sophomore), 1st Team All Bay-League (Junior), 1st Team Daily Breeze All-Area Team (Junior), 2023-2024 Coaches Award; given to players that showed elements of leadership and extended the coaching staff’s mentality in a positive way to the team (Sophomore), and 2026 Preseason Underclass All American, among others. Ace is grateful to his family, teammates, and coaches for their unwavering support and dedication to the furtherance of his success on and off the field.
